Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with networking protocols and troubleshooting.
- Experience in telecommunications, optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, and Layer 2 or Layer 3 routers and data services.
- Experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (OSA, BERT, OTDR).
- Experience with optical networking and deployment.
Nice to haves:
- Experience with managing or directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors or vendors in a Telco working environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing automation solutions for network deployment or similar processes.
- Experience with process improvement or process engineering methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience working with optical transport systems, third-party leased network assets, and installation vendors.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, lead technical projects, prioritize and manage project timelines.
- Ability to travel as needed.

- Deliver Google's network reliably and at scale, with a focus on workflow automation and efficiency.
- Drive adaptable and scalable approaches, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize network deployment cycle time and operational costs through process improvements.
- Own an area of responsibility, addressing issues, anticipating needs and escalating as necessary, while identifying automation opportunities to improve efficiency and prevent reoccurring failure modes.
- Maintain accurate network data to drive operational excellence.
- Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
