Senior Software Engineer I - GetPaid

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages like Java, Python, or Go.
• In-depth knowledge of database systems, including both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, as well as asynchronous systems.
• Experience working with distributed systems and building financially correct systems using distributed system patterns.
• Experience working in product-led companies, with a strong product mindset that prioritizes user needs and business goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to break down complex problems into shippable milestones that deliver value fast.
• Curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement.
• A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, prioritizing work with customers in mind and making data-driven decisions to fix customer pain points.
• Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot and experience with a messaging system like Kafka is a plus.
• Being part of the on-call rotation for critical services and helping the team improve it, normally being on-call every 6-10 weeks.

What You'll Be Doing

• Help drive the team's critical projects and define the technical vision for the domain.
• Mentor and guide more junior engineers in the team.
• Collaborate with PM and Engineer Lead to build the team roadmap and ensure value delivery to customers.
• Build solutions for customers to integrate Wise into their website for payments.
• Improve the Invoice and Payment Link product.
