Senior Site Reliability Engineer I

Requirements:

• Solid experience in at least one programming language
• Experience with building, operating and maintaining scalable distributed systems
• Experience with operations automation
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies
• Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals
• Proven foundation in Linux administration and troubleshooting
• Understanding of Service level agreements and objectives

Nice to Haves:

• Additional experience in OpenStack, Kubernetes, Networking, Security, or Storage
• Monitoring/observability technologies like Prometheus, Graphite, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and implement systems software to improve stability, scalability, availability, and latency
• Ownership of services and freedom to make decisions for the business and customers
• Solving problems in production systems and preventing recurrences
• Building effective monitoring and handling system outages
• Running capacity tests and managing systems growth
• Planning for reliability by designing systems across multinational data centers
• Developing tools for product development teams and advocating engineering best practices
• Participating in on-call rotation and being an escalation contact for incidents
• Contributing to Booking.com's growth through interviewing and recruitment efforts
