Software Engineer II, High Availability Controller

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Nice to haves:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with system architecture, distributed systems, object-oriented analysis and design.
• Experience with Java.

What you'll be doing:

• Write product or system development code. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Build solutions in Java to provide high availability and automated failover orchestration for external customers' GCE workloads.
• Participate in the analysis and design of high availability solutions using the HA Controller for Google Cloud customers.
