Senior Backend Engineer (Python/Go) - Consumer Platform team

Requirements

• Solid experience in backend development using Python, Go, or similar languages
• A passion for core engineering problems like system design, optimization, and scalability
• Experience working on high-traffic, production systems
• (Bonus) Familiarity with reliability engineering or on-call practices
• Strong ownership mindset and curiosity—someone who likes to understand how things work under the hood
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
• A pragmatic, product-oriented mindset focused on solving real user problems

What You'll Be Doing

• Build and maintain high-throughput critical backend services in Python and Go
• Work across the complete development lifecycle—from architecture and design to deployment and monitoring
• Drive cross-team reliability initiatives and improve the scalability of Wolt’s platform
• Design and implement core services, shared libraries, internal tooling, and platform-level improvements that empower other teams and support our global consumer economy
• Define reliability best practices that make Wolt’s systems more robust
