Machine Learning Researcher - Apple Music - Music Intelligence

Requirements

• Expertise in modern ML and AI methods for content representation, description, and categorization
• Fluent in Python ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Proven track record of outstanding research publications in AI/ML, ideally with an emphasis on content understanding
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• A PhD/MSc in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field, or equivalent education or industry experience

Nice to Haves

• Experience in Spark or other large-scale data analytics frameworks
• Familiarity with ontologies for data representation
• Experience with Scala or Java
• Love of music

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing and deploying algorithms for understanding audio, metadata, lyrics, and user behavior to represent, retrieve, categorize, and describe music
• Working on industry-scale machine learning problems with state-of-the-art resources at Apple
• Relying on machine learning, artificial intelligence, Bayesian modeling, and A/B testing
• Collaborating with a team consisting of other researchers, engineers, product managers, editors, and evaluation specialists
