Software Engineer - Specialised Database

Requirements

• Proficient in modern Java
• Advanced understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience with Cassandra, Redis/Valkey, Voldemort, or other NoSQL database
• Track record developing critical internet services and/or platform infrastructure
• Strong expertise designing and implementing RESTful/RPC API and services

Nice to Haves

• Understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency models, partitioning, replication)
• Knowledge of key-value store internals and storage engines
• Familiarity of virtualization, containerization, Kubernetes
• Contributions to open source communities

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop storage systems that are correct, reliable, scalable, and fast
• Build and evolve major components of the database
• Work on all stages of the lifecycle from design, implementation to runtime
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various Apple teams
