Systems Engineer, AWS

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Linux system administration and good troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host
• Experience of systems automation using BASH, Python, Perl, etc
• Experience of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)

Nice to Haves

• Exposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerations
• Knowledge of configuration management systems, such as: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or related systems

What You'll Be Doing

• Dive deep into understanding the root cause of customer issues
• Investigate why metrics are trending the wrong way and consult with senior engineers
• Implement Operational Excellence best practices and automate manual processes
• Troubleshoot, innovate fixes, keep software up-to-date, and provide data and metrics for service efficiency
• Identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues using networking knowledge
• Communicate clearly, collaborate with others, and deliver results in a customer-obsessed manner
