Site Reliability Engineer I

Role Qualifications and Requirements

• Solid experience in at least one programming language: Java, Go, Python, Perl;
• Knowledge of Observability Domain, and experience in building monitoring/observability solutions;
• Experience with building, operating, and maintaining scalable distributed systems;
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies;
• Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals;
• Solid foundation in Linux administration and troubleshooting;
• Understanding of Service level agreements and objectives;
• Additional experience in OpenStack, Kubernetes, Networking, Security or Storage are a plus;
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proficient command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, develop and implement systems software that improves stability, scalability, availability and latency of Booking.com products;
• Take ownership of one or more services and make decisions best for the business and customers;
• Solve problems with production systems and build solutions to prevent recurrences;
• Build effective monitoring to monitor system health and handle outages;
• Contribute to Booking.com's growth through various efforts.
