Library Software Engineer - Java

Requirements:

• Experienced Java/C/C++ developer.
• Experience with the OpenJDK Java runtime.
• Familiar with JVM ins and outs (GC, JIT, bytecode, etc).
• Written clean, correct, well-tested, and performant Java/C++ code.
• Care about performance and have experience in measuring and optimizing code.
• Care about quality and maintain a strong testing discipline.
• Want to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with JNI.
• Written a Java Agent before.
• Experience with byte-buddy, asm, or other JVM instrumentation libraries.
• Experience with other JVM runtimes, such as J9 or GraalVM.
• Experience with performance optimization of applications, frameworks, and libraries.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop performant code in Java and C/C++.
• Work closely with other six Libraries teams through working groups and RFCs.
• Collaborate with the rest of the profiling teams to make new product ideas happen.
• Ensure that your quality criteria are met thanks to our shared testing platform, health metrics, performance monitoring metrics, etc.
