Staff Software Engineer (Frontend) - DesignOps

Requirements:

• Experience: 10+ years of relevant engineering experience with deep knowledge of accessibility standards and tools, proven track record of successful projects in the accessibility space.
• Leadership: 4+ years of technical leadership experience, effective communication, and coordination across teams.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, advanced CSS with a strong understanding of accessibility implications.
• Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams, building effective partnerships with product managers and engineers.
• Positive Energy: Bring an upbeat and motivating presence to the team to create a collaborative, supportive atmosphere.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Strategic Leadership:
  • Establish a clear company-wide vision for accessibility.
  • Advocate for accessibility as a key pillar of product quality.
• Tooling and Standards:
  • Build scalable frameworks and tooling for accessibility testing and compliance.
  • Update the Design System to comply with accessibility standards.
  • Identify and implement tools to streamline accessibility audits.
  • Maintain and update accessibility standards and documentation.
• Expertise and Collaboration:
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on accessibility.
  • Evangelize best practices and embed accessibility into workflows.
  • Represent accessibility priorities in planning sessions.
  • Monitor industry trends and share insights.
  • Participate in customer calls as an accessibility expert.
