Requirements:

You have been building software for 5+ years and know the systems you’ve worked on from top to bottom
You have significant experience in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, Rust, .NET or C/C++
You value code simplicity and performance
You are data driven and use observability products

You have experience building and shipping packaged or downloadable software
You are familiar with OpenTelemetry
You have contributed to or have an official role in Open Source projects
You have significant experience in using profilers, debuggers, tracers, or similar tools to improve the code quality of the software you’re writing

Develop the embedded OTel Collector in the Datadog Agent, running on customers’ infrastructures and targeting a large number of platforms / environments / deployment models, with Datadog-specific and upstream OpenTelemetry contributions
Simplify customers’ onboarding and management of OTel Collectors with Fleet Management capabilities
Review community contributions to Datadog-related components of the OTel Collector
Take part in investigating and fixing issues with the internal production deployment of the OTel Collector
With your team, be a driving force in product decisions and plan the most important projects to work on next
