Senior Software Engineer - Observability / OpenTelemetry Agent

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in languages like Go, Java, Rust, .NET, or C/C++
• Strong value on code simplicity and performance
• Data-driven mindset with experience in observability products
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Problem-solving orientation focused on customer needs

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in building and shipping software
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry
• Contributions to or official roles in Open Source projects
• Proficiency with profilers, debuggers, tracers, or similar tools

What You'll Be Doing:

• Developing high-performance OTel observability pipelines in the Datadog Agent
• Simplifying customers' onboarding and management with Fleet Management
• Reviewing community contributions to Datadog-related OTel components
• Investigating and resolving issues in the production deployment of the Datadog Agent
• Collaborating with the team on product decisions and project planning
