Senior Software Engineer - Backend & Scalability (Lisbon)

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience building backend software in production using languages like Go, Python, Java, C++, or Rust
• Contributed to the design and development of backend services or APIs, enjoying solving real-world engineering problems
• Exposure to distributed systems (e.g., fault tolerance, messaging, scalability) and eager to deepen expertise
• Writes clean, maintainable code with thoughtfulness and curiosity in system design
• Collaborative and interested in working on high-scale, high-reliability systems

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design and build reliable backend services for high-throughput, globally distributed workloads
• Own core components powering products used by thousands of engineering teams
• Collaborate with experienced engineers on system architecture for scalability and resilience
• Learn and apply distributed systems design patterns in a production setting
• Ship production-grade code in languages like Go, Python, or Java
• Contribute to the team culture through code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentorship
