Front-end Engineer - React / Node.js

Requirements

• Significant commercial experience
• Passion working with React, Node.js, TypeScript, testing frameworks (such as Playwright and Jest)
• Experience with monitoring the health of applications in production, accessibility-minded experiences, developing and using enterprise APIs, and working in a continuous delivery environment

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, and Storybook
• Experience working in an eCommerce organization or a shipping/logistics/exports organization

Responsibilities

• Extending React / Node.js based applications, including using or writing internal APIs
• Architecting front-end applications that are secure, maintainable, extensible and can meet the demands of eBay's scale
• Supporting applications in production, setting up & maintaining logging, monitoring, and alerting
• Helping teammates grow & influence other teams through collaboration, and pair programming
• Assisting the engineering and product managers research, scope, and plan new platform capabilities
• Improving application quality and increasing deployment speed through code refactoring, proposing new tools, and changing processes
• Effectively communicating progress to team members, managers, and wider eBay colleagues

Location

• Hybrid role with offices in Shoreditch, London
• Currently spending three days a week collaborating in the office
