Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on data governance, data contracts, or similar domains.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality standards, and metadata management.
Expertise in managing relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to design and implement scalable data solutions that accommodate multiple data types.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing:
Data Source Onboarding: Maintain and strengthen relationships with cross-functional domains, Analytics, and Infrastructure organizations to facilitate the technically sound onboarding of new data sources onto the GDS platform.
Data Quality Standards: Develop and integrate data quality standards into the data governance process to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across the platform.
Guidance and Support: Provide expert guidance to domain engineers in implementing data source contracts, ensuring compliance with established data governance policies and standards.
Platform Expansion: Collaborate in expanding the ESP platform to support multiple types of data sources, enhancing its capability to manage diverse data sets effectively.
Metadata Collaboration: Work closely with the GDS metadata team to support a rich metadata lifecycle required for effective data governance, ensuring comprehensive documentation and traceability.
Strategic Development: Partner with Product Managers and Architects to develop a long-term data governance strategy that aligns with eBay’s business objectives and technological advancements.
