2+ years in a SaaS, IT, or developer-focused environment—for example, prior experience as a technical writer, support engineer, product manager, or other technical role.
Technical knowledge and expertise—the best writing stems from a true understanding of the product you're writing about and the problems it solves.
Curiosity, a willingness to wear a variety of hats, a desire to learn new things, and the drive to roll up your sleeves and tackle sophisticated problems.
Experience with a lightweight mark-up language such as Markdown, Asciidoc, or Wikitext.
What You Will Be Doing:
Work side-by-side with Elastic engineers, product marketing, support, and your fellow writers to document new features, improve our existing content, help users succeed with Elastic products, and tell a consistent Elastic story.
Produce how-to guides, user guides, tutorials, and other content for our documentation website and in-product help center.
Use Elastic's Git-based software development process—being comfortable using Git and GitHub is important.
Review and edit documentation changes contributed by other Elastic employees and community members.
Test both the product and its documentation for accuracy and consistency.
