Software Engineer, WAN Core

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience coding in a general-purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go, or JavaScript, etc.) or in system design.
• Experience in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience in one or more of the following: test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools, and testing frameworks.

Nice to haves:

• 4 years of work experience, including experience in networking, storage, systems architecture, compilers, operating systems, or modeling and analysis.
• Experience in network programming or developing/designing large software systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Analyze production data to identify gaps, error patterns, and opportunities for system improvement.
• Design, develop, integrate and test the features for B4 availability, scaling, New Product Introductions (NPIs).
• Debug/Root cause issues in an integrated B4 ecosystem including traffic engineering and admission control.
• Prioritize work and ensure that incremental progress is made even if the issues at hand are difficult to solve in a short period of time.
• Help team members and partner teams in understanding the context, and solve the right issue at the right time.
