Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology
Experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).
Experience in telecommunications, at carrier class scale and with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
Nice to haves:
Experience in Dense Wave-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Routing topology and architecture.
Experience working in a data center.
Knowledge of OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
Knowledge of basic scripting/programming (e.g., Python/Apps Script/SQL).
Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting at both Layer 1 and Layer 3.
What you'll be doing:
Develop business requirement documentation based on solicitation from internal teams.
Work with development teams to implement automation requirements.
Manage and audit network equipment installations using third-party vendors or in-house resources as needed.
Test, troubleshoot, commission routers, optical transport equipment, and other network devices in new and existing network nodes across Google's global network as needed.
Generate implementation plans and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.
