Software Engineer III, Security, Metrics and Measurement

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience with SQL pipelines and metrics analysis.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in information security, particularly in areas like web security and application security.
• Experience with large-scale data processing systems (e.g., MapReduce, SQL databases).
• Experience building dashboards, data visualizations, or reporting tools.
• Experience with security and web applications.
• Familiarity with Google's infrastructure and development environment.

What you'll be doing:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable systems and infrastructure for collecting, processing, and analyzing security metrics from sources.
• Collaborate with security experts across various domains to define meaningful metrics.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the Product Security Measurability framework.
• Build and improve tools, dashboards, and visualizations to provide actionable insights into security posture.
• Analyze metric data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for security improvement across Google's products and infrastructure.
