Staff Software Engineer, SRE Ads Site Reliability Engineering

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience in leading projects.
• 3 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.

Nice to haves:

• 8 years of experience leading incident response investigations, analysis, and containment actions.
• Experience in technical leadership, leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams toward achieving common objectives.

What you'll be doing:

• Engage and improve the lifecycle of service from inception and design through to deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Scale systems through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Practice incident response and postmortems.
