Data Center Facilities Technician, Controls

Requirements

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in Controls/Automation in an industrial or commercial environment
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) of equipment
• Ability to work non-standard hours and work rotations/shifts

Nice to Haves

• 5 years of experience in controls/automation, or construction/technical environment or a related field
• Experience in data centers, hospitals, power plants, or laboratories
• Experience in scripting language
• Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, relays and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment
• Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as servers, network equipment, PLCs, system administration, access control, alarm investigation, and SCADA/BMS management
• Produce standards and templates for global control/monitoring system analysis, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and trend logs specifically for data center critical facilities systems
• Operate, monitor various information streams in the 24/7 control room and make accurate, mission-critical decisions to keep operations running seamlessly
• Direct the execution of intricate control system programming, overseeing the startup, commissioning, comprehensive documentation, successful integration of new equipment and systems into our facilities
• Provide valuable operational and maintenance insights during the design review process, enhancing system efficiency and reliability from the beginning
