Software Engineer III, Content Publishing

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.

Nice to haves:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience in Android or iOS and Flutter, Video Codecs or Video Editing.

What you'll be doing:

• Write product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Build new features to make uploads simpler and more integrated with Shorts Creation and Studio Inspiration.
• Help creators distribute their content to the right audience at the right time, use generative AI for better content or increase their earnings through better monetization controls.
• Make uploads more reliable by improving the client-side uploads infrastructure, shared between the YouTube, YouTube Studio, and YouTube Create apps.
