Senior Android Software Engineer, Android Mainline

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in Java, C++, Kotlin or equivalent programming languages and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 1 year of experience with Android application or operating systems development.

Nice to Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience with Android application or operating systems development.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build core platform APIs and services used to implement the Android Core Operating system.
• Support and release services via Google Mobile Services (GMS) that are critical to the Android Core Operating system.
• Build tests as well as in-field metrics to ensure the quality of these platform services.
• Work with our developer relations and product team to improve our developer experience to enable developers to build higher quality widgets and surface higher quality shortcuts.
• Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
