Software Engineer III, BigQuery (BigLake Federation), Google Cloud

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
• Experience in distributed computing, data analysis, Google infrastructure

Nice to Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
• Experience developing accessible technologies
• Experience with open source systems like Apache Iceberg, Spark, etc.
• Experience working with partners like SAP, Salesforce, or other cloud computing providers

What You'll Be Doing

• Write product or system development code
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
• Be responsible for all data and metadata federation aspects and expand BigLake to other clouds
• Be responsible for creating a compelling cross cloud data analytics product, working with senior software engineers and project management leads
• Influence the roadmap, work with customers & partners, and help with building a strong culture of operational excellence within this new team
