Network Implementation Engineer, Optical

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with networking protocols and troubleshooting.
• Experience in optical transmissions systems (e.g., DWDM) and Local Area Network/Wireless Protocols and TCP/Internet Protocol.

Nice to haves:

• Experience supporting and directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, and vendors in a Telecom working environment.
• Experience in developing and implementing automation solutions for network deployment.
• Experience with process improvement or process engineering methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience in telecommunications, with a working knowledge of network infrastructure, optical transport systems, layer 2/3 (switches, routers), third-party leased network assets, and installation vendors.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Deliver Google's network, with a focus on workflow automation and efficiency.
• Drive adaptable approaches, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve network deployment cycle time and operational costs through process improvements.
• Own an area of responsibility, addressing issues, anticipating needs, and escalating as necessary, while identifying automation opportunities to improve efficiency and prevent reoccurring failure modes.
• Maintain accurate network data to drive operational excellence.
