Network Implementation Engineer, Optical II

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with networking protocols and troubleshooting.
• Experience with optical networking and deployment.
• Experience in optical transmissions systems (DWDM) or LAN/Wireless Protocols or TCP/IP.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment (eg: installation, commissioning and network troubleshooting).
• Experience in one or more of the following disciplines; Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.

What you'll be doing:

• Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale.
• Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
• Develop creative approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operational costs low.
• Monitor the network and repair issues while anticipating needs and escalating issues.
• Own network documentation, update and maintain network designs and plans.
