Staff Software Engineer, Desktop Integration

Requirements

• Experience with systems programming on a major desktop platform (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
• Development experience on Windows and/or macOS, particularly with low-level Win32/Cocoa API coding
• A solid understanding of C/C++ and some knowledge of Rust
• Excellent communicator and effective on a distributed team
• Pragmatic approach to moving things forward with trade-offs and safeguards
• Experience working collaboratively with product managers and non-engineering teams

Nice to Haves

• Professional programming experience in Rust
• Development of cross-platform desktop applications, especially involving low-level systems programming
• Successful contributions to an open-source project

• Develop, innovate, and ship the next experience of Firefox features
• Improve ease of use and security of Firefox in large deployments
• Assess work supporting the team and product roadmap
• Work on OS integration and grow user base
• Optimize the quality of Firefox by fixing software defects
