Requirements:

Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours” (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)
2+ years of full-time professional experience building consumer web products (excluding internships)
Knowledge of frontend technologies such as React and Typescript
Excellent skills in Python or similar programming language
Professional experience leveraging backend storage systems such as MySQL, MyRocks, Memcached, or Redis
Experience working with large-scale distributed systems, and an understanding of the challenges and complexities involved in building scalable solutions for millions of users

Preferred Requirements:

2+ years of frontend experience with frontend technologies, such as React, Javascript, Typescript
Love of the Quora products

Develop full stack web applications with Python and React
Contribute to projects that shape the core product experience - driving growth, ensuring healthy moderation, and empowering creators
Design and launch product features at massive scale, using data and experimentation to guide each iteration
Drive projects from ideation to production using the full technology stack
Collaborate with designers, product managers, fellow engineers, and data scientists to prototype and implement functionality and analyze impact
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure Quora provides a reliable and high-quality product

Salary range:
- US candidates: $128,193 - $184,009 USD + equity + benefits
- Canada candidates (Toronto, Vancouver): $167,178 - $191,975 CAD + equity + benefits
- Canada candidates (other locations): $156,033 - $179,177 CAD + equity + benefits
