Staff Backend Engineer, Top of Funnel

Requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed systems
• 8+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience in general purpose programming languages
• Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and designing maintainable APIs
• Experienced with distributed caching layers and large scale data storage systems like Cassandra

Nice to Haves:

• Experience mentoring engineers, owning team processes, and leading cross-functional projects
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead technical and design decisions across various problem spaces
• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
• Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, test, launch
• Contribute to team strategy and mentor junior engineers
• Move fast while balancing quality in product development
