Principal Software Engineer - SnowCommand

Requirements

• 18+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.
• Expertise and proven record of building complex data replication systems.
• Passionate about improving the overall security and effectiveness of internal operations.
• Deep multi-faceted appreciation for building end-to-end customer-facing products.
• Strong Fullstack fundamentals, including proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems (fluency in JS techstack and Java efficiency preferred).
• Experience working with cross-teams and product managers.
• Proficiency in modern web applications design architecture oriented on the security of managed system.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes & Docker.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and build SnowCommand as the production management platform that allows Snowflake to operate globally.
• Drive tactical and strategic plans and initiatives for the whole area.
• Participate in decision-making processes on technical or business issues.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams to help deliver cross-functional initiatives.
• Collaborate with Global Platform principals and Snowflake architects to drive initiatives as a whole Global Platform area.
• Ensure operational readiness of the services and meet security, stability, and reliability for the core production access system.
