Backend Engineer, Core Infrastructure

Requirements

• Enthusiastic engineer with an interest in building backend infrastructure
• Proficient in Java, with a willingness to pick up other programming languages
• Well-versed with scripting languages, such as Bash or Python
• Experience with cloud-based environments, CI/CD practices, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code
• Passion for learning, experimenting, and working with new technologies, while adapting quickly
• Care deeply about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, clean code, and automated testing
• Experienced in designing and building distributed and scalable systems

What You'll Be Doing

• Help improve the core infrastructure systems that are the foundation of the rest of Spotify’s backend
• Design, analyze, and optimize code for large-scale distributed systems to improve platform reliability and scalability
• Work with technologies supporting thousands of developers and over a billion customers
• Participate in an on-call rotation for services maintained by the team
