Director of Engineering, Commerce – Seller Tools

Requirements

• 12+ years in engineering leadership roles, including experience managing people managers and multi engineering teams
• Experience managing 20+ engineers across multiple geographies (e.g., US and Ireland)
• Expertise building customer-facing and developer-facing products
• Can recruit and grow frontend and backend engineers
• Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, with the ability to align team members across technical and non-technical functions
• Experience building solutions with MACH architecture principles - Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, and Headless, and with cloud technologies like GCP, AWS, Azure
• Thrives in dynamic environments, effectively navigating shifting priorities and evolving roadmaps
• Familiarity with experimentation platforms and agile development processes
• Passion for internal platform capabilities and improving developer productivity

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the technical strategy and build a multi-year roadmap for Seller Tools in partnership with Product and Design
• Lead and scale engineering teams across frontend, backend, and full-stack disciplines
• Recruit and develop top talent, building a diverse organization
• Promote collaboration across Commerce, Websites, and Platform teams to build reusable components and accelerate value delivery
• Foster development by balancing experimentation with sound engineering practices
• As a Senior Leader in Dublin you will contribute to site-wide programs and alignment
• Guide the evaluation and adoption of GenAI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs) across digital experiences
