Frontend Engineer, Design System

Requirements

• Residence in the Barcelona metropolitan area, or willing to relocate.
• 4+ years of industry front-end development experience, building, running, and debugging web applications using modern JS frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
• Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS.
• Familiarity with building and maintaining frontend components or libraries.
• Experience with frontend build tools, module bundlers, package managers, and codemods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug frontend issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers, product managers, and product engineers.
• Appreciation for the importance of good documentation -- internal and external.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and execute against both short and long term roadmaps to evolve Stripe’s UI platform.
• Contribute to the overall software architecture of Stripe UI products.
• Build internal tooling and process to support developers building on our platform.
• Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
• Engage in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing components and frontend APIs to ensure reliable and efficient user interface delivery.
