Requirements

5+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale
10+ years of full-time software development experience, with a strong background in full-stack development
Experience hiring and building new teams from zero
Experience working across geographies and with North America-based teams
Experience leading teams that have shipped and maintained critical user-facing products
Strong technical proficiency to engage thoughtfully with engineers about architecture and product design, with a particular focus on modern web technologies, performance, and user experience
Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences

Design and reason about integration experiences with a strong focus on end-user simplicity and developer experience
Recruit top engineering talent in partnership with Stripe’s recruiting team to build a diverse and high-performing team
Scale the team up from zero, and work with US-based teams to align charter and ownership, and take over more domains as the team scales
Build full-stack solutions across Stripe's ecosystem, including back-end services, dashboard interfaces, and integrations with other Stripe primitives
Engage directly with users to understand their business needs and translate requirements into concrete solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to deliver these solutions
