Staff Software Engineer, Catalog Platform

Requirements:

• Relevant degree (B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D) in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience (8+ years)
• Experience coding with C++, Java, Python, or Go
• Enjoy building high-quality software relied upon by millions of people globally
• Comfortable working in an evolving environment with ambiguity
• Experience in large-scale distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in building performant distributed systems with a focus on correctness and consistency
• Experience with distributed databases
• Experience with large-scale eCommerce or Content-Management Systems
• Batch and/or Streaming computation platforms
• (Openness to) Full-stack experience

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for building the Product Catalog and Inventory system for Uber Delivery
• Work on foundational components of the Uber Delivery architecture
• Design a highly-available and highly-scalable system to support global operations 24/7
• Collaborate with thousands of merchants and billions of products in the catalog
