Staff Engineer Web - Payments

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Web engineer and overall 12+ years of industry experience in the full stack space
• Experience building complex large scale web applications with Node, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, HTML, and CSS
• Ability to contribute, influence, and drive payment initiatives
• Deep understanding of building full stack solutions with Web in forefront at scale
• Belief in speed and quality not being mutually exclusive
• Comfortable working on complex architecture and design principles
• Willingness to embrace Uber's cultural values

Nice to Haves

• Robust understanding of web server and client performance optimizations
• Demonstrated fluency with one or more general-purpose programming languages
• Mentorship and guidance skills

What You'll Be Doing

• Define, build and execute tech vision for core Uber flows enabling Payments
• Architect the Payments Web Engineering tech space
• Work closely with backend engineers and cross platform developers
• Lead teams to deliver features across Uber's technical stack
• Write maintainable code with high quality tests and documentation
• Contribute to existing systems and ship high quality products
