Software Applications Support Engineer

Requirements

• Hands-on software engineering experience in a large-scale environment, with a focus on Application Support Engineering.
• BS degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Coding knowledge in Java, Scala, and related frameworks.
• Good understanding of SQL.
• Skills and experience in monitoring, alerting, fault analysis, and automation.

• Strong communication skills to drive triage of critical issues with multiple technical and business teams.
• Analytical problem solver with a knack for data collection, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
• Strong critical thinking ability to solve complex problems innovatively.
• Incident management and experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of technical issues.
• Strong team player fostering collaboration with excellent social skills.
• Good knowledge of RDBMS, PL/SQL, NoSQL, Unix Shell Scripting, and AWS.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partnering with engineering teams to prioritize and fix production defects.
• Working non-standard hours to support teams with ongoing incident mitigation.
• Sharing on-call rotation responsibilities to support apps and services in scope.
• Taking knowledge transition from engineering teams for production changes and assessing monitoring needs.
• Triaging and prioritizing incidents based on impact, implementing mitigation steps as needed.
• Conducting Root Cause Analysis, logging defects, and collaborating with engineering teams for prioritization.
• Automating tasks, maintaining support documentation, and debugging production issues.
