Requirements

• Strong programming and software engineering skills (Python, C++, Java, or equivalent).
• Experience in developing machine translation, speech recognition, or natural language processing systems.
• Proficiency in large-scale data processing (Spark, Dask, or equivalent) and data management/analytics.
• Excellent communication skills, team player, and ability to manage complex processes across multiple stakeholders with a motivation to create exceptional products for Apple’s customers.

Nice to Haves

• Proven experience in software engineering, with a focus on developing robust applications.
• Familiarity with deep learning and neural machine translation is a plus.
• Experience in distributed cloud computing environments (GCP, AWS) is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

• Applying and improving data and model training pipelines for rapid expansion into new languages.
• Managing data acquisition projects and training neural machine translation models.
• Driving evaluation criteria to establish unprecedented translation quality in Apple's MT products.
