Requirements
- Fluency in data management and data governance best practices, including familiarity with legal and regulatory compliance requirements related to data.
- Experience in developing, implementing and leading data governance frameworks and strategies in a fast-paced tech environment.
- Proven experience working in dynamic, rapidly evolving tech companies, with the ability to adapt to changing data schemas and business needs.
- Strong technical acumen, with the capability to bridge the gap between legal/compliance requirements and technical implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment on data governance priorities across various business units.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent data governance initiatives to senior leadership, the Board, and external parties.
- Expertise in managing data-related risks and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Experience in engaging with external regulatory bodies and managing compliance-related communications.
What You'll Do
- Own and evolve our data management framework to both mitigate risks and ensure we are using our data in the best possible way
- Set out a clear target state for data management and governance and own the roadmap to achieve it, ensuring alignment with business-wide priorities, the Executive team, and the Board.
- Own and manage the roadmap for data governance initiatives, addressing critical issues and ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.
- Engage with external parties, including regulatory bodies as needed, to ensure Deliveroo's data practices meet compliance standards.
- Work closely with various teams across the company to ensure cohesive and comprehensive data governance practices, also representing data governance initiatives internally and externally, providing updates and insights to the Executive team, Board, and external stakeholders as needed.
