Backend Engineer, Foundations: Import and Integrate

Requirements

• Significant professional experience with Ruby on Rails, Redis, and Sidekiq
• Professional experience with Rest API, GraphQL, and Postgres SQL
• Experience with Data Migration, Grafana, and Kibana preferred
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
• Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop features and improvements to the GitLab product
• Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders within Engineering
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
• Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Craft code that meets internal standards for a high-scale web environment
• Conduct code reviews and ensure community contributions receive timely responses
• Recognize impediments to team efficiency and propose solutions
• Represent GitLab in public communication around projects and contributions
• Participate in on-call rotations for troubleshooting product operations
