Intermediate Backend Engineer, Ruby at GitLab

Requirements

Professional experience with Ruby on Rails
Experience working with a platform or complex application (Large scale is a bonus)
Familiarity building and deploying software with CI/CD or other internal tooling
Familiarity with distributed, scalable, and reliable systems
Experience with modern DevOps platforms (GitLab is a bonus)
Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, for success in a remote work environment
Capacity to communicate about technical problems and propose solutions clearly and concisely
Experience with performance and optimization problems
Comfort working in an agile software development process
Positive and solution-oriented mindset
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
Share company values and work in accordance with them
Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization

Develop features and improvements to the Switchboard product
Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to iterate on new features
Craft code meeting internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices
Ship small features with minimal guidance and support
Improve product experience through code quality enhancements
Identify and contribute to code improvements
Learn, collaborate, and teach other Engineers
Fix prioritized issues and follow workflow processes
