Network Implementation Engineer II

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in Dense Wave-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
• Experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).
• Experience in telecommunications at carrier class scale and with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers and data services.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in developing and implementing automation solutions for network deployment or similar processes.
• Experience with process improvement or process engineering methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, lead technical projects, prioritize and manage project timelines.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
• Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-motivated decision-making.

• Deliver Google's network reliably and at scale, with a focus on workflow automation.
• Drive adaptable and scalable approaches, collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network deployment cycle time and operational costs through process improvements.
• Own an area of responsibility, addressing issues, anticipating needs and escalating as necessary, while identifying automation opportunities to improve efficiency and prevent reoccurring failure modes.
• Maintain accurate network data to motivate operational excellence.
