Software Engineer II, Android, YouTube

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript)
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms

Nice to Haves

• Experience with software engineering in one or more of these coding languages: C++, TypeScript, Kotlin, Java
• Experience with mobile app or Android development
• Experience in full-stack development

What You'll Be Doing

• Impact millions of YouTube Creators daily, building tools to help them refine content and maximize its reach and impact
• Design and launch features for the YouTube Studio Metadata Editor focusing on Android Mobile app
• Integrate features seamlessly into the Metadata Editor and handle technical challenges building scalable, reliable UIs and backend systems for metadata management and experimentation across web (e.g., JS/TS, React) and mobile (e.g., Kotlin/Java, Swift) platforms, interacting with large-scale services (e.g., Java, C++, Go)
