Software Engineer II, Google Compute Engine

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Nice to Haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Excellent command of C++ and Go, aligning with our current technology stack.

What You'll be Doing

• Develop product or system code and review code created by other developers, providing feedback to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Design and implement scalable, and efficient software components for Google Cloud-based platforms, primarily within the GCE Node organization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner, and contribute to the architectural design and technical direction of systems within the evolving Google Cloud ecosystem.
