Technical Lead II, Backend

Requirements

• Experience building and scaling backend systems, ideally in a fast-paced, product-focused environment
• Excited by problems in personalization, search, recommendation, or AI/ML
• Strong foundation in Java or comfortable picking it up
• Balance strong technical execution with a desire to support and grow others on the team
• 2+ years of experience at a Senior SWE II level or equivalent

Nice to Haves

• Worked on predictive AI systems, search, or recommendation engines
• Built or contributed to Generative AI experiences
• Experience in the education or e-learning space

What You'll Be Doing

• Own and evolve the backend systems powering search, recommendation, discovery, and embedded learning within Academy
• Drive improvements to search and recommendation using machine learning systems
• Build the next generation of personalized learning experiences
• Help embed Academy into the broader HubSpot product
• Integrate Academy content with Breeze and support tooling to surface learning when relevant
