Senior Software Engineer, Java - Provisioning at Squarespace

Requirements

4+ years of experience in backend development, with expertise in Java or similar object-oriented programming languages.
Strong background in designing scalable architectures, database management, and performance optimization.
Experience with frameworks such as Spring, and familiarity with event-driven systems and messaging tools like Kafka.
Proficiency in integrating backend services with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Lead the development and maintenance of backend services like the Order Service and Provisioning Service, ensuring scalability and performance.
Build solutions for complex requirements, optimizing our purchasing and subscription workflows.
Work with modern technologies including Java, Spring, PostgreSQL, and Kafka to deliver APIs and event-driven services.
Guide the technical direction of projects, making main architectural decisions and improving existing codebases.
Mentor junior engineers, encouraging a culture of knowledge-sharing within the team.
