Software Development Engineer - Ring AI

Requirements

• Multiple years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in more than one programming language (Typescript, Python, Java, or similar)
• Experience building data pipelines, tooling, or infrastructure for ML/AI systems
• Experience with test automation frameworks and continuous integration/continuous deployment practices
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver complex technical projects independently
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, TypeScript, Java, or similar)
• Experience designing and building APIs, services, or platform components
• Experience with CI/CD practices and automated testing
• Demonstrated ability to take loosely defined problems and deliver working software with minimal guidance
• Experience working across multiple layers of the stack (backend services, data pipelines, APIs, or hardware interfaces)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware-software integration: IoT, robotics, embedded systems, or industrial automation
• Experience with AI/ML systems — building tools, pipelines, or infrastructure that support model development or validation
• Familiarity with protocol-level hardware control (DMX/ArtNet, ROS, serial, MQTT, or similar)
• Experience with real-time data systems, positioning technologies, or sensor data processing
• Experience building plugin architectures or abstraction layers for heterogeneous systems
• Background in computer vision, image processing, or video analysis
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and build the platform services that enable AI agents to orchestrate physical test infrastructure
• Develop hardware abstraction interfaces for controlling diverse equipment through a unified API
• Build orchestration components for test scheduling, routing, execution, and monitoring
• Create tooling and interfaces for AI agents to generate test scenarios autonomously
• Prototype new test bed configurations and validate test types at miniaturized scale
• Develop CI/CD integrations for connecting physical test infrastructure to firmware and AI model pipelines
• Build dashboards and APIs for test results, statistical analysis, regression detection, and infrastructure health
