Linux Kernel Engineer

Requirements

• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent skills and work experience
• At least 5+ years of experience developing or maintaining the Linux kernel or low-level system software
• Proven ability to debug kernel level issues
• Deep understanding of kernel tuning for stability and performance
• Hands-on experience developing CI/CD systems
• Strong programming skills in C
• Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals
• Experience working in a RHEL based Linux environment
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice to Haves

• Proven track record of upstream contributions to the Linux kernel project or similar upstreams

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, building, and operating CI and validation pipelines
• Leading triage of kernel regressions and investigating crashes and performance issues
• Collaborating with engineers across Apple to port, maintain, and upstream device drivers
• Shepherding kernel changes into production
• Raising the bar on kernel quality, automation, and release discipline
