System Development Engineer

Requirements

• Experience in professional, non-internship software development, or experience in development in the last 3 years
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience working in a high-tech environment
• Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems or developing large-scale web applications
• Experience handling large enterprise technical customer escalations
• Experience with automation or working with scripting languages like Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell, or equivalent

Nice to Haves

• Experience with virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen), or experience in software development
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in software development
• Experience in Linux and Networking protocols, or experience in Network protocols like DNS/DHCP/TCP and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
• Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform high quality systems operations, deployments, scaling, and optimization
• Diagnose and respond to ongoing events
• Drive automation to improve incident response
• Develop quality metrics and drive them to resolution
• Advise leadership on improvements in DDoS response and resiliency
• Hire and develop team members
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation
